Magnetron Specifications
This genuine LG microwave oven magnetron is the key component that generates the microwaves needed to heat food efficiently. Designed for a precise fit in many LG models, it converts electrical energy into microwave radiation for fast and even cooking. If your microwave isn’t heating, cooks unevenly, or makes buzzing noises, replacing the magnetron can restore reliable performance. Built for durability and OEM quality, this part ensures your appliance operates as intended. For installation, always disconnect power and discharge the capacitor to ensure safety.

The microwave is not heating the food or nothing that we put in it. What could it be?
For model number 72162622200
Hi Martin,
Thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that you may want to check. You should take a look at your door switches, diode, and capacitor. Test those parts and if you find that they are working correctly, it may be your magnetron that is the issue. Good luck with your repair.

Microwave makes a weird sound when pressing start button, and then nothing heats up. No other issues with rest of the unit. Was cooking pasta on the burner right below it prior to this happening.
For model number LG LMV1831 ST
Hello Doug, thank you for writing. If the microwave is not heating up, you will want to consider either the Micro Switches parts PS3522738 and PS3529293, the Magnetron part PS3517729, or the High Voltage Diode part PS3528799. We hope this helps.

LG microwave will not heat anything up. It powers on and the turntable works fine. Replaced the door switch assy and it still does not heat up.
For model number LMV1831BD
Hi Tim, thank you for the question. The high voltage diode helps to convert the AC power to DC power for the magnetron. If it is faulty, the microwave won't heat. We would suggest replacing the high voltage diode cable assembly, part number PS3529603. We hope this solves your problem!

this is a kenmore micro. how do i remove the magnetron
For model number 72180413500
Hello Brad, thank you for reaching out. To remove the magnetron, you will need to remove the outer covers. Remove the rear outer cover to expose internal components. The magnetron is at the back bottom section, metal block with RF output fins, two ceramic terminals on top. You can remove the old magnetron by unplugging the wires and any mounting screws or brackets holding it. We hope this helps.
