Timer WE4X821

I unscrewed the two screws that are on top of the timer panel either side. and the two screws that are under the timer panel both sides. The whole assembly will come apart and expose the timer. Unscrew the timer (three nutdriver type screws). Unplug the wires (make a map of what color wire goes on what terminal before you unplug them. I had a wire that melted and burnt on to the terminal. I had to strip and crimp a new terminal onto thr wire. The new terminal is a common one found in hardware store. There is a front panel and the back panel that the Timer knob has to fit between. I forgot the knob and had to take it apart the panel assembly again to get the knob between the front panel and back panel. It is pretty straight forward and easy, once you get the courage to tear the thing apart. Just reassemble it the same way. Oh my dryer is old I used WD 40 on the terminals to get them loose. The replacement part was exactly like my old one. I was worried it would be different but I was pleasantly surprized it was a perfect replacement part.
