The Part I Needed
The part worked and the stove top element is working well once again. I was pleased that this web site told me that the old part had been discontinued and identified the replacement which was in stock. Fortunately, I had labelled the pins where specific wires attached to the old switch and so was able to connect the new ones easily according to that mapping (no detailed instructions came with the new part to say which wire goes to which terminal).
