The blower housing was cracked
I used utube on how to dismantle the dryer. In fact I use a video created by Parts select. The hardest part was getting a spring that holds the tensioner on the drum belt.

On the blower wheel assembly, is there an additional nut to hold the unit onto the motor shaft, or does the wheel itself simply spin onto the shaft? The only thing holding the wheel in place is the shaft and the housing, otherwise, it moves freely. I'm wanting to know if i need to look for a nut, or could it be that the center of the wheel is busted, therefore not being able to be tightened back onto the shaft. Thanks

Hello Chris, thank you for your question. No, there is no nut that holds this onto the shaft. It spins within the housing. Clamp a pair of vise grips to the motor shaft while still in the dryer to prevent it from turning. The blower wheel will screw off in a clockwise direction since it is left handed threads.
