The front burner gets to hot even at a low setting, and i have exchanged burners with one that works. Will a new on / off switch behind the control knob fix the problem?

I have a similar problem. The right front 8" burner will intermittently go to maximum heat. I have found several part numbers for the switch and want to order the right replacement.
