The front door kept falling down
Broken friction cable on the right hand side. Remove screws that hold dishwasher to cabinet, pull out the dishwasher far enough to get to the friction cable and rear spring. Remove broken cable. Attach new cable to rear spring and connect to door hinge. Push back dishwasher and screw in the two screws that keep the dishwasher attached to the cabinet. Very simple.

plastic on the friction cable broke, and left the dishwasher door hanging open
I removed the bottom front of the unit, removed broken friction cable, hooked the new friction cable to the door, attached the cable to the spring, then reattached the spring in the hole provided in the back frane of the unit... Dissappointing how cheaply made these parts are, the dishwasher is just over 1 year old, these friction cables should be made to last longer....

Cable was broke
Opened door. Located 2 Phillips head screw s attaching the dishwasher to counter and removed them. Slid the dishwasher out about 8 inches. Love broken cable and removed . Inspect spring and attached new cable. Inspected opposite cable and spring. Tucked insulation around dishwasher and slid back into place. Reattached 2 Phillip screws and closed door.

I recently bought new door hinges, one for each side. My son fell on the door while open and bent them. There was loud squealing while opening and closing the door, plus the door almost touched the ground when in the open position. While the new hinges fixed the door position, it did not fix the squealing at all. I am at a loss to whether it is coming from the door spring or the pulley. Both are intact on each side. WD 40 either one, or what would you recommend?
For model number FGID2466QF2A
Hi Holly, thank you for contacting us. Although the springs are intact, they might be slightly misaligned or have uneven tension, causing the squealing noise. Check if the springs are properly seated and adjusted. You may need to replace the door spring, part number PS1524996, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
would a broken cable friction cable cause the unit to leak
For model number FGHD2465NF1A
Hello Michael, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the hinge cable helps balance and support the weight of the door as it opens and closes. If it is broken, then it can cause leaks. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. The hinge cable for your model is part number PS17217958. We hope that helps!
