The Kitchenaid dishwasher door will not latch for washing. Started last night. Washer is 5 years old. A youtube video appeared to match our washer and latch. Part no.W11412299 was input into your system, Output said it was $14 and compatible for Whirlpool and one another but not Kitchenaid. Would it be good for Kitchenaid also?

I ordered and received door latch part # W11412299. The picture on the page shows the plastic tabs that lock the dishwasher. The new switch doesn’t have the extending parts to lock the door. Is that a separate part?
Thanks Doug

Hi Doug, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, the part you are looking for is the door latch strike, part number PS16555320. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.
When the dishwasher is off and I close the door to start a wash load, my dishwasher won't start (no light on where the normal wash place is on the front of dishwasher) when I press to start the normal wash button. When I then open the door I use a knife or screwdriver to wiggle the door latch on the top of the door panel. Soon, the normal light and the start light may come on. As I then try to close the door to push the start button, the lights may go off and I need to keep trying some more OR I can close the door and the lights can stay on and I can start the dishwasher, which will work just fine.
I spoke with a person at your company who thinks that it is a need to replace the door latch. The recommended part to order is PS12745375.
Can you please review my situation and let me know what you think??
Thank you
