This OEM spring is designed to fit within the bit holder assembly of impact drivers (also known as impact wrenches), positioned between the anvil and ring gear. It works alongside a washer and hog ring on each side to maintain consistent pressure on the inserted bit, ensuring a secure grip during operation. As a high-wear component, the spring may eventually lose tension or become damaged, leading to reduced bit retention and compromised tool performance. This spring includes a built-in hook for secure attachment within the main housing. If the hook becomes bent or broken, the entire spring should be replaced. Installation requires a screwdriver and partial disassembly of the driver housing to access the spring.
