Caused a direct short
The Broil element had right angle wire connectors on it. The right angle connection shorted on the oven chassis after it was installed. If the connector had been straight, the element would have been easier to install and would not have caused the short. After replacing the broil element, the bake element and the oven sensor this Jenn Air no longer works. It appears as if the control panel (the next item to replace in trouble shooting) is not longer available. As such, it will be necessary to replace the entire range.

Broiler would not heat
replaced broiler element - still would not heat. Called repairman and the control panel is out and will cost around 200.00 to replace. To replace the element, my son helped as my arms weren't long enough. Removed two screws at back and two screws on front of broiler brace. Pulled out and removed wires and hooked them to the new element. Had to turn off circuit breaker. Pushed element back into the holes and replaced screws. In this instance, it would have been cheaper had I just called the repairman first. However, I have an extra broiler element in case it goes out again.

Broiler blement failed
Sunday, four days before Thanksgiving, our oven would not bake properly. A quick check indicated the top element was not working. What to do? Where to get a part in time to fix for Thanksgiving dinner? The answer was easy - PartSelect. I had the part in my hands on Tuesday AM. Oven was fixed in 15 minutes and my wife was baking pies within an hour. All worked well and yes, we had a wonderful trukey dinner. Great service !

The roof element gets so hot it burns everything in a matter of minutes. It doesn't matter what the temperature setting is. Would this part correct it.

Hi Pat, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing or testing the Long Oven Sensor, PartSelect Number PS1570174.Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!
