If your oven door isn’t opening or closing like it should, this hinge might be the fix. It works on either side of the door and helps it move smoothly and stay open at the right angle. This part doesn’t include the spring, so you’ll need that separately. It fits many models from Whirlpool and related brands—just check your manual to make sure it’s the right one before installing.

Our oven door made a loud noise and kinda dropped when i opened it, and now it only closes or you can lower the door all way down. There is no stopping in between and you can’t let go while opening it. We are replacing the hinges but don’t know the difference between passive with no spring and active with spring...aside from the obvious. which one should we buy?
For model number MER7685BB0
Hi Tammy,
Thank you for your questions. The door hinge - passive without spring is letting you know that if you purchase this part, the spring is not included. The door hinge - active with spring is letting you know that spring is included with the hinge. That is all it means. I would purchase the hinge with the spring. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

should both oven door hinges be active?
For model number WFE535S0LS3
Hi Mike, Thank you for asking. This would depend on your model. We suggest checking both sides. If both sides have a spring you will need the Active Hinge. If they have no spring you order the Passive Hinge. We hope hope this helps!
