Switch for stove element Kitchen Aid
The part was sent promptly and was easy to install. Expensive though. Having never done a switch replacement before, I was surprised with the ease of removing the front panel on the stove to expose the switch. Didn't know at first if the problem was with the switch or the element. But, here's a simple tip - if the red light above the turn dial does not light up to indicate that the switch has been turned on, then the switch is faulty. Of course, then the element won't heat up.

The front left dual top element doesn't get on anymore. I think it is the controler but i do not know which one to order. Is it the ps11747406 or the ps11747407 that activate a dual element?
For model number YKERS807SS00
Hello Vincent,
Thank you for your question. The correct element control switch for the front left element is under part PS11747407 for your model. We hope this helps.

Both of the left dual burners will turn on when on high, but if I change the temperature setting to medium, the unit clicks off and won't heat, it seems to come back on at "simmer". All parts of the elements seem to heat up as seen through the glass top, so I was wondering if this is a switch or heating element problem?
For model number KERS807SSS00
Hello Aaron,
Thanks for your question. The most common cause of the elements heating incorrectly as you describe would be due to the surface element switch, part number PS11747407. It may be worth replacing to see if its functionality can be restored.
I hope this helps.

Stove top burner’s red light switch turns on but the element doesn’t heat.
For model number YKESS907SS01
Hello Michel, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the element that is not turning on with a multi meter to check for continuity and replace if no continuity. Hope this helps!

I replaced the left front element as it was no longer heating and yet it still doesn’t work! Is it possible that the element switch needs to be replaced?
For model number YKESS907SS05
Hello Chris,
Thank you for your question. If replacing the element did not fix the issue, then it is most likely the corresponding switch that would need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Hi There,
I have a question, I have a kitchenaid stove (burner), YKERS807SS01. For the left front burner when I turned on into dual mode, only the outer one works, and the single mode does not light up the inner burner (middle smaller). Could this be a switch problem or the dual surface element problem?
Thanks!
Thanks.
For model number YKERS807SS01
Hello George, Thank you for contacting us. This can be caused by a bad element, a wiring problem or a broken surface element control switch. You can actually test the element, wiring connectors and switch with a multimeter, as well as check for any visible damage on the harness. Good luck with your repair.
I managed to sheer off the knob for the left middle burner. The one that controls dual functionality on the left rear of the top. I want to be certain which part I need to replace the piece. Additionally, it looks as though all I need to do to open it stove up is (cut the power) and remove 2 screws at the top of the door then the two screws holding it on.
Thanks,
For model number KESS907SSS04
Hi Rich, thank you for reaching out. The left rear surface element switch for your model is part number PS11747407. It turns the surface element on and off and controls how much heat the element produces. We hope that helps!

Hi, I was moving our Frigidaire range to our new home and broke off the Left Front burner control. I need to replace that control unit, and possibly the nob as the post is stuck in the nob (I may be able to drill it out). More important is replacing the Element Control for this dual burner. Please advise which part number this is.
