One day when opening the door there was a "Snap" and the door fell open.
I first went on line to the KitchenAid repair web site and found my problem listed and instructions given . This first of all led me to a parts drawing for my model and then to the site connection to order the parts and receive the instructions. The parts arrived quickly and the instructions were thorough and easy to follow. This was a good experience for me.

Tension spring loop on right side door tensioner was broken
Unscrewed two fixing screws keeping dishwasher located.
Pulled out dishwasher.
Removed broken spring & pulley wheel.
Placed new spring on frame loop at great of side panel.
Replaced cracked pulley wheel.
Connected cord to spring.
Tensioned cord stretching spring.
pulled cord around two pulleys & connected it to door hook.
Replaced dishwasher & replaced holding screws.
Pulled out dishwasher.
Removed broken spring & pulley wheel.
Placed new spring on frame loop at great of side panel.
Replaced cracked pulley wheel.
Connected cord to spring.
Tensioned cord stretching spring.
pulled cord around two pulleys & connected it to door hook.
Replaced dishwasher & replaced holding screws.
