The part was exactly as ordered.
The package was quite badly damaged in shipment but the part itself was undamaged. The part I ordered was the small element. At the time of ordering I wasn't really sure that it was a problem with the element which I had just installed several months before but rather the control panel or module. The representative I spoke to seemed to think it was the element that was the problem and that it would be replaced on warranty, which was good news for me. However, after installation, the problem remained as it was and so I assume my initial suspicion was the correct one. The part that likely needs to be replaced costs half or 3/4 that of a whole new cooktop and so I will buy a new cooktop. The problem was that on three of the heat settings, the element would not heat and on two of those three, the little red light that indicates that it was on failed to light.
