Unscrewed door screws from washer lifted the door up a little removed door. Unscrewed screws from the glass side and f door remove hinge replaced with new hinge screwed glass door back together. Attached door back to washer screwed screws back in done

Washer hinge casting broke
Removed washer door from washer. Lay door on work bench (table). You need to remove screws from around most of the washer door to remove broken hinge. Install hinge into door frame. Fasten all screws for hinge and door frame. Reinstall complete door assembly onto washer with removed screws. Helpful to have some hold door for ease of alignment. Tools used: 1/4 inch torque #15 bit with 1/4inch nut driver.

Cast component of hinge cracked and broke off.
After receiving the hinge and screws, I watched the on line video at the website. I removed the door and hinge from the washer, removed the hinge from the door and re-installed the new hinge. The entire process took less than 15 minutes and reattaching the new hinge to the machine was a breeze. The replaced hinge is smooth as silk and all is back on line. Great service from the crew at this site. Shipping was very quick (ahead of the scheduled arrival) and the CSR was very cordial and professional.
Door was not closing properly, broken swivel arm under hinge.
removed door from washer, set flat on table and just loosen up the screws all around, removed old hinge and replaced with new hinge, very easy. back to washing clothes.

remove door from washer and lay flat on a piece of cardboard remove 4 screws from door hinge and take out just enough screws both sides of hinge to remove hinge from pocket of door,careful not to put to much stress on glass and gasket when removing old hinge and replacing.

screw arm that connects the two hinge parts broke after 15 years
Had difficulty getting the door off the washer because I didn't realize there were two hooks in addition to the two screws that held the door to the washer. I reviewed the repair video several times through out the repair. Probably unscrewed more than I needed. Got the new hinge installed on the door. The problem was I couldn't hold the door at the right angle to get the hooks inserted. The washer is near the wall so I couldn't open it all the way and bending over at an odd angle didn't help. At nearly 80 I don't have the strength I used to!! After trying and with the door falling on my arm I gave up and called a friend. We did have difficulty getting the hooks inserted correctly. I held the door and she got the hooks in. On the good side, the hinge part fit like it should!!

Door hinge was broken
I followed the directions as given in a video from this site, and it was pretty simple. It can be done without power tools, although I used screw driver heads on a drill. The only iffy part was that some of the star-shaped screw heads were shallow and I had to be careful not to strip them. In brief, the fix required removing the door from the machine, unscrewing the inside of the door from the outside, removing the broken hinge, inserting the new hinge, re-aligning the inside and outside of door, screwing it back together, and re-attaching to the machine.

One of the screws holding the hinge will not tighten.

Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking to see if the screw Part Number: PS11746286 is stripped. If not the hole in the hinge the screw goes in may be stripped and the hinge will need to be replaced. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Re your P/N PS11745072, hinge, Are the four mounting holes in the hinge where it is attached to the door assembly threaded? My broken part is threaded but a replacement hinge I bought is not threaded.

I have the Maytag MHWE300VW12 Washer and underneath the metal hinge is a small plastic hinge that is broken. I have Kenmore elite washer model number 11047789700. It says in the description that self tapping screws are needed to mount this. Is this True ? And if so is it the screw holes to mount to the door or is it the screw holes that mount to the machine ?
