Does this part control the heat? The dryer runs but has no heat.. I've replaced everything but this. Any sugestions
For model number 11072702100
Hello Roger, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the timer contacts control the dryer motor as well as the heating circuit. A defect in the timer’s electrical contacts can cause the dryer to stop producing heat. We would recommend checking the timer, part number PS11742168, to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!

I noticed that our dryer was not shutting off but was drying the clothes. I ran all night because I did notice it, now it won't heat.
Could the timer cause it not to heat now?
If I replace the timer, do I need to replace the thermostat? This is a gas dryer.
Please help!

Hi Timothy,
Thank you for your question. If the dryer is not shutting off the issue could be with the door switch. If you open the door and the dryer still tumbles, it is likely the door switch. To test it to see if it is operating normally, you will need to use a multimeter. Before removing and testing the door switch, please unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. Set your multimeter to the Rx1 setting and touch the terminals of the switch with the probes. You should receive a reading of infinity. With the probes still touching the terminals, press in on and hold the switch. The reading should change to zero. If your switch fails either of these tests, you need a replacement door switch. If the door switch is fine, then you will need to check the timer and the cycling thermostat. If the dryer no longer heats, check the thermal fuse, the cycling thermostat, and the M-series coils. We hope this helps!
