Stopped Cooling. Could hear compressor trying to kick on but would instantly shut off.
I researched everything that I heard and saw on this forum. I realized that I was seeing and hearing the same problems that everyone was having. So instead of being an idiot and taking the fridge to the curb, I decided to spend 86.00 including shipping/handling on 2 small parts (start relay and capacitor). Best money I have spent. Saved me over $1000.00+ THANK YOU!!!! The 2nd best thing was that the parts came in the next day. I didn't expect it for approx 3-4 days. Excellent website and excellent service!!!
I removed the back cover to gain access to the compressor. I unpluged the start device and cap from the compressor. Replaced the items with the new ones. Plugged in the refridge and it worked. Whirlpool/Kitchenaid appliances are problems. I won't buy another.
Fridge and Freezer were not cooling- notices compressor would "click" off after 10 seconds
After repairing a similar refrigerator's ice maker a few years ago, I thought I'd try it again. After some brief research online the compressor tested ok. I ordered the start relay and run capacitor and cleaned the coils. The parts arrived promptly and I installed them without a hitch. The fridge has been working great.
No cooling, clicking noises like it trys to start!
The star device that i recived was a little different, wasn't black like the original a recived a grey one and little bit smaller than the original but it fit perfect, and my frige is working good since i replaced.
This is a side by side fridge. Both refrigerator and freezer quit working. I could here the combination start device click and try to start the compressor. It would shut back off within 5 seconds.Removed the lower rear cover on the fridge and cleaned the coils while it was off. Replaced the combination start device, plugged in the fridge, and it worked. What a relief!

Refrigerator fans runs but compressor not running
MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF or REFRIGERATOR UNPLUGGED BEFORE STARTING THIS!!! I removed the lower refrigerator backing. The compressor was located in the left corner of the refrigerator. I located the start device which had a thin clip on top of it. After removing the clip I pulled the 2 wires (Red and White) from the start device. I then pulled the whole device from the compressor. You can use a screwdriver to pry it from the compressor. I unplugged the capacitor from the old switch and plugged it into the new one. Installed in reverse from how I took it out.

refridgerator and freezer stopped cooling
The first thing I did was to determine what my problem was. I was hearing a clicking sound and noticed the compressor was trying to start. I removed the screws that held the back cover on which took 5 minutes. Once it was off I could see the compressor and the start switch which was attched to the side with a clip. I took the needle nose pliers and popped this off and pulled the switch out, disconnected the wire plug and that was it. To replace it I unplugged the capacitor from the old switch and plugged it into the new one then installed it the same way the old one came out.

Refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling after power outage
Power outage and both freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. When you unplug the refrigerator and plug it back in the compressor would run for a few seconds then kick off. Replaced the combination start device and works great again. Third time I have used the site with positive results. Fast shipping and right part every time to fix that fixed my problem.

Refrigerator not cooling (compressor click on / off)
Refrigerator compressor making a clicking noise and not starting, problem was a compressor relay. I just had to remove the backing off of the fridge with a screwdrive and the compressor relay just plugs into the side of the compressor.

Would not cool.
After originally cleaning out a mouse nest blocking the cooling fan, ordered and replaced the run capacitor. When that did not fix the problem then I replaced the combination start device with the overload protection. Problem solved.

Our unit starts and sounds normal but does not restart as normal. To restart we turn the thermostat to the off position then back to the desired cold setting.Thank you

Thank you for your question. We suggest you start with the Capacitor, This part provides the voltage or energy current required to start the compressor and keep it running. It allows the compressor in your appliance to easily cycle on and off.

Hi Pat, Thank you for the question. You will need to test the compressor windings with a multimeter. With the multimeter set to R x 10,000 (10K), each winding should be checked to ground. You should have an infinite OL resistance to ground. A shorted motor will read 0 ohms across windings, to ground, or both. If it's both, you'll need to replace the compressor.Hope this helps!

Freezer side and refrigerator side will not cool, put new capacitor on and combination start device and still will not cool. What could it be.

At this point I would suggest checking the following parts: PS11750673 Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat, PS12070685 Thermostat, and PS11740362 Evaporator Fan Motor. I have looked at your part ps11740412. It lists the brands that are compatible with it but LG is not included. The images of the part are exactly the same (except the white label) as the part i'm trying to get. Will this part work with my model refrigerator?

Re: Ps11740412 model# wp2319792. This part rattles when you shake it. According to the internet, when that happens it’s broken. My old part rattles that’s why you hear the “clicking” noise. I have not installed it yet. But, according to the youtube video, make sure there’s no rattling noise before you install it.

Freezer is cold but not freezing, runs all the time.Fridge side is good. Help? Replace thermostat did not help. Cleaned coils.
