could not dispense ice from door
no ice came out from the door dispenser after researching here i found it to be the auger drive motor for the ice dispenser cost $50.00 but was well worth it took less than 15 minutes to replace and was super easy to do. saved on service calls and repairman cg's. directions on how to were also found here and very helpful. i highly reccomend this site if you are a little mechanically inclined you can fix and save big!!!!!!!!!
Ice machine would not turn, dispense, or crush. Made ice fine. First, replaced switch for $7, did not fix it. Second, replaced motor for $80. Old motor was metal, new motor is plastic, but replaced it in 20 minutes, works like a champ. Inside freezer door, took off shelf under the ice maker, unplugged frig, removed two screws and cover plate, removed four screws on motor bracket, unplugged motor, plugged in new motor, replaced bracket and 4 screws, replaced cover, plugged frig in...Perfect!

With the exploded (Printable) view of the assembly for my fridge available on this site, it was a breeze removing the existing ice dispenser motor and replacing with the new one. Ice dispenser work like new, now. I have never had a bad experience from Parts Select.

ice dispenser/crusher not working
removed first wire rack in freezer door this will give you access to the 2 screws for cover to get to motor for ice dispenser/ crusher then removed wire connector to motor. you have to pull back on tab for locking connector to release from terminals. next used nut driver to remove 4 screws holding motor to shaft , installed motor lining up keyed shaft. reinstalled 4 mounting screws for motor. reinstalled 2 screws for access cover and then reinstalled wire rack into freezer door squeezing together to get it back into holes where it pivots

Ice dispenser would not work
First I removed the plate inside the freezer to get to motor, then unplugged the wiring harness to the motor and removed the motor. inserted new motor, plugged in harness,replaced the plate, and now that baby spits out ice again!

Ice dispenser has not worked in a couple of years
First I removed the 2 screws holding the cover on. I then disconnected the wires harness before removing the 4 screws holding the motor in place. I reversed these three steps and wala, the ice dispenser now works perfectly. Thanks

Would not despense ice
Removed two screws on inspection plate underneath second shelf on inside of the freezer door. Removed four screws holding motor that turns inside ice bin. Unplugged wires and reinstalled.

Auger motor shorted out when lost power during hurricane
Old motor easily removed with nut driver and by disconnecting power connector. New motor is similar, but has very different mounting. Old motor attaches directly to mounting bracket with 4 screws. New motor has holes in very different place on the motor, about 2" lower. Solution is 4 2 1/2" #10 machine screws and 12 nuts. One nut to attach screw firmly to mounting bracket. Other 2 nuts on either side of motor bracket to secure it to mounting bracket screw.. Essentially instead of attaching directly to the mounting bracket, the motor is suspended by the machine screws.

I have lost the shaft from the ice auger motor to the gear that turns the ice dispenser. It looks like a 2inch shaft but i cant find one for the Whirlpool gold fridge. Any suggestions
