The compressor (cold) of my refrigerator runs for approximately 4 min and then turn off, after 20 mins it tries to start but it can not, it makes a few tries and then stops. I replaced Control board and Inverter Board but the it does not fixed the problem. The oms are 7.2 on Start and run. electrical data indicate should be 6.4. Do you think it could be the compressor? or what else?

For model number KSSC42FTS18
Hi Frank,
Thank you for your question. If the temperature is fluctuating inside the refrigerator, the issue may be with the thermistor, part number PS11740224. You will need to test it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting to see if it is operating normally. You will first need to submerge it in ice water for 5 minutes until the temperature reaches 32 degrees F. When testing the thermistor, you should receive a reading of 16,600 ohms (+/- 5 percent). If you receive a reading outside this range, you will need a replacement thermistor. If the temperature is fluctuating, the user control and display board, part number PS11740282, where you adjust the temperature, may be failing and it will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

Fridge will warm up then back down normal temp. It does this frequently. Could it be the compressor. Thanks
For model number KSSC42QKS00
Hello Benjamin, thank you for asking! The most probable cause behind such issues is a faulty defrost thermostat (part number: PS11750673). Before moving towards the compressor in troubleshooting, we would recommend to check the defrost thermostat. We hope this helps, please contact customer service for follow-up questions. Thank you.

Does this compressor (and drier) require any soldering??
Hello Margaret, thank you for your query. According to our research, to remove or attach the filter drier, you may need to use a neutral-flame soldering torch. To attach the new filter, you first have to solder a Schrader valve onto the extra connection. Next, you may need to connect and weld the filter onto the condenser outlet. You may then attach the filter to the capillary tube, weld it on, and place the new compressor in the correct position. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
