Is this the part that causes the refrigerator to freeze everything on the fridge side?

Hi Sharon,
Thank you for your question. You will need to check the temperature sensor and the main electronic control board. Before checking these parts, you will need to unplug the refrigerator from the electrical outlet. Before testing the temperature sensor for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, you will need to place it in ice water for 5 minutes until the temperature reaches 32 degrees F. You should receive a reading of 16,600 ohms (+/- 5 percent). If you receive a reading outside this range, you will need to replace the temperature sensor. If the temperature sensor is fine, visually inspect the main electronic control board for signs of damage, wear, scorching, or burn marks. If it shows any of these signs, you will need to replace it.
