Hello Colin, Thank you for the question. Next each terminal there should be a number, here is how the unit should wire up, number 6 terminal should be black wire, number 4 terminal will be blue wire and the red will go to terminal number 3. We hope this helps!

You can test the thermostat switch with a multimeter to see if it is causing the issue, but we also recommend checking the defrost thermostat, the defrost timer and the defrost heater. Hi Glenn, thank you for a very interesting question. Thermostat maintains that temperature by controlling the flow of electricity to the compressor. It could be possible that the current is not sufficient. You can also test the thermostat using a multimeter for electrical continuity. For both analog and digital multimeters, rotate the range selection dial to the lowest setting for ohms of resistance. A working thermostat should have a reading of zero or as close to zero as possible. Glad to be of help!
