Hello Terry, Thank you for the question. Normally this indicates the Washing Machine Door Lock Assembly could be defective and needs to be replaced. If you disconnect the lock from the control while the unit is turned off, you can test the lock to see if it is in the locked state. If you test the blue wire to the white wire for resistance, if it reads 0 ohms then it is in the locked state. If it reads infinite, then the lock is in the open position. This will help to identify if the lock is in the locked position. If it is in the locked position contact customer service to return the part and a new latch should be ordered. I hope this helps.

Whirlpool model wtw4855hw3 is stuck in pump out mode. If the board is replaced and this issue continues what would be the next step, the board was changed yesterday as well as the pump due to some noise and it was fine, but today the resident called back saying it started again. This pressure switch is integrated into the board so that cannot be induvially replaced.

Hello George, Thank you for your inquiry. If the washer is not draining and you have already replaced the drain pump, then we would recommend checking the drain hoses for any clogs. If it is not filling or won't stop filling, then we recommend checking the water inlet valve and lid switch. Good luck with your repair.

My washer is out of balance. I have changed the tub springs, checked the motor etc. but when it goes into the spin, without anything in the tub, it shakes violently. What to do? Gary

I put the defective unit into diagnostic as well as calibrate but it just loops in calibrate mode for hours (suggested to be completed in about 3 minutes). Do you think it is the panel? or does that indicate an error with a hardware piece?

Hi Stevie, Thank you for asking. If the washer is stuck in calibration mode for hours, it likely indicates a malfunction with the control board and it will need to be replaced. We hope this information is useful!

Hello George, thank you for getting in touch. Check the drive transmission or gear case assembly, part number PS16220910. It might be worn out or defective. They have gears in them which can fail, causing the washer to be noisy during operation. Check the clutch assembly, part number PS10057144. The clutch assembly makes the connection between the transmission and the inner tub. If the clutch or its components are worn out, the washer will make loud noises. You will also need to check the drive belt, part number PS12578772. The belt gets loose over time due to damage or wear and tear, which can cause loud noise. We hope this helps.

Hub had warn its grooved teeth off and washer wouldnt agitate
ordered hub and it shipped quickly. I was able to put the hub in place and screw the screws in. you want to tighten them down slowly and go around to each screw tightening a little at a time so you don't break the hub. as you tighten the screws down the hub slides down flush. its impossible to just push the hub on with your hand. Buttoned it back up and got caught up on laundry. good day when the washer is fixed.

Noise, grinding sounds. Wash tub stopped turning but motor and cycles kept functioning. Process of elimination, must be the clutch assembly.
