Instructions on how to replace a broken door latch
For model number WTG86400UC
Hello Charles, thank you for the question. Open the dryer's door. Unscrew the two screws over the cover of the door latch. Remove the cover over the door latch. Now push the door latch slightly up, then pull forward to remove it and replace the door latch. We hope this helps.

Dryer model number wtg68400uc/07. I am looking for the piece that sticks out and goes into the latch opening. I am also looking for instructions to dismantle the door. I suppose if I found instructions to change the hinge, it would show me what I need to know.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Christina, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the part you are looking for does not come separately. It comes with the door window, part number PS12367365. You can replace the door window by following these simple steps. First unplug the appliance, then open the door window, and remove the screws that are holding it with the front panel of the dryer. Then remove the door window and follow back the same steps to install the new door window. Glad to be of assistance!
