The ice maker side door switch has gone out twice. This second time, we have found that the compartment that the switch fits into is wet and has water in it. The switch and connector is corroded. Suggestions?

We have concluded that the issue you described is due to the following parts: the seal, part number PS11752142, and the ice maker, part number PS16730670. We hope this information helps!
Refrigerator shuts off every 3 to 4 days. it does NOT trip the breaker. I have to go to the garage and turn the breaker off and wait a few minutes and the refrigerator starts back up. its done this approx. 12 time in the last 2 months. I was told it was a sensor that was in the pull-out draw, but I cant find the part on your website

I have a whirlpool refridgerator, stainless steel,french doors,bottom freezer/ with water despenser . I stated the model # ED5VBEXTL00 /I have another / it is WRX986SIHZ02 / S/N - KX4209054/ I don't know which one is correct ! anyway .my problem is i need a refridge filter / not a water filter ! it stated on the french door to replace the filter I have a temp.
in there it was climbing to 60 /& 70 /suppose to b recommended @ 37%

Need additional advice. I've replaced and tested all lights for interior of refrigerator and freezer (with exception of 3 on wiring harness on water filter housing). All lights are dimly lit for the top of refrigerator and freezer. Side lights are working normal. Replaced the LED control board. Replaced the main control board. What else could it be?

I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
Purchased new motor from Partselect.com. When it arrived it came with a new rubber washer that fitted on top of new motor that was not on old motor, that how water got into old motor. However, the instruction sheet did not give info on how to access the proper way to the motor that is the door. Not wanting to damage the freezer door assy. called in a tech who made it look easy, but even he had a little problem locating access panel that was directly under the motor in the freezer side of the door. After that it was a piece of cake.
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
