The refrigerator is cooling but the freezer is not cooling properly
For model number WRV986FDEM00
Hello Carol, thank you for your question. The evaporator fan is responsible for cooling in the freezer area. When the refrigerator is running and the freezer is not cooling properly, the most probable cause in such a case is a problematic evaporator fan. Try to hear the fan running in the freezer and inspect that it is running. If it is not then you will need to replace the evaporator fan motor (part number: PS12074814) given the fan blades are in good health. We hope this helps, please contact customer service for further assistance. Thank you.
This refrigerator has 2 icemakers. The one in the refrigerator section doesn’t make ice. Doesn’t get cold enough. The ice level sensor works in testing mode. When I take it out of testing mode it stays on for a few minutes. I replaced the fan in the ice maker it runs in test mode. I guess what I’m trying to ask. Do one of the control boards in the back of refrigerator control ice level sensor along wIth ice maker fan? I replaced evaporator fan in refrigerator section.

Hi John,
Thank you for your question. If your ice maker is not making ice, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the water fill tubes, the water inlet valve, the water filter and the ice maker. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts. To verify if the control boards are causing the issue, check and make sure that the connections are secure. If they are, inspect the boards for signs of damage, wear, scorching, or burn marks. If the boards shows any of these signs, you will need to replace them.
Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
Purchased new motor from Partselect.com. When it arrived it came with a new rubber washer that fitted on top of new motor that was not on old motor, that how water got into old motor. However, the instruction sheet did not give info on how to access the proper way to the motor that is the door. Not wanting to damage the freezer door assy. called in a tech who made it look easy, but even he had a little problem locating access panel that was directly under the motor in the freezer side of the door. After that it was a piece of cake.
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
