Water dispenser is not working consistently. Do i need to replace the switch?
For model number WRF993FIFM00
Hi Michael Ann, thank you for your question. Yes, that would be one of the parts that you may want to check. You may also need to look at your water inlet valve for being the issue. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. Good luck with your repair.

No ice in either ice maker.
Replaced MCU, icemaker 2, and main inlet valve. Main cabin temp is at 36 and freezer cabin is at 0. Warm air coming through duct that should feed cold air to ice maker. What controls the flow of air to the main ice maker? I have run the ops diagnostic for operation of the water fill to both ice makers (good flow) and run the full test cycle for main ice maker (passed). Can run other diag if you tell me what I need to check. No visible frost accumulation and I can here the fans kick on and they don't sound like they are hitting frost either....help me :)

Hi Craig,
Thank you for your question. There is an air tower inside the refrigerator that allows the air to flow. If it is not operating normally, then the electronic control board that controls it will need to be replaced. The part number for it is PS11759616. We hope this helps!
Help! Our Whirlpool french door icemaker is sometimes leaking water from under the drip tray on the door and out of the ice shoot; dumping water into the ice bucket causing occasional ice buildup. Thx- Ken
For model number WRF993FIFM00
Hi Kenneth,
Thank you for your question. If your ice maker is leaking water, check the water lines for any loose connections and tighten them. If the lines are fine check the water inlet valve to see if it is working correctly. Also make sure that the ice maker is properly positioned inside the door and that the refrigerator is level. If there are any ice blockages, break them up. We hope this helps!
I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
Purchased new motor from Partselect.com. When it arrived it came with a new rubber washer that fitted on top of new motor that was not on old motor, that how water got into old motor. However, the instruction sheet did not give info on how to access the proper way to the motor that is the door. Not wanting to damage the freezer door assy. called in a tech who made it look easy, but even he had a little problem locating access panel that was directly under the motor in the freezer side of the door. After that it was a piece of cake.
