What might cause the freezer to not cool but still keep the refrigerator cold (normal).
For model number WRF990SLAM02
PartSelect logo
Hello Brian and thanks for writing. The most common cause of this condition is a problem with the defrost system. If the refrigerator freezer is cold but the refrigerator is warm, the evaporator fan motor # PS11755853 might have failed. Every refrigerator has a set of coils called an evaporator. These are the coils that get cold.

replaced circuit board and condenser fan fridge is still only cooling down to 56 degrees and ice maker won’t make ice yet freezer barely freezing food
For model number WRF990SLAM02
PartSelect logo
Hi Randy, Thank you for your question. If the fresh food and freezer sections of your refrigerator are too warm, we recommend checking the evaporator fan motor. Before removing and checking the evaporator fan motor, unplug the refrigerator from the electrical outlet. The motor shaft should turn freely with minimal resistance, attempt to turn the shaft manually to check for any resistance. If there is a significant amount of ice on the motor, defrost your freezer and see if that resolves the issue. You should also inspect the motor for any signs of wear or damage. If you cannot turn it easily, or if it is noticeably worn, you need a replacement evaporator fan motor. We hope this helps!

Lights inside refrigerator not working
I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.

Ice dispenser motor burnt out, water got inside.
Purchased new motor from Partselect.com. When it arrived it came with a new rubber washer that fitted on top of new motor that was not on old motor, that how water got into old motor. However, the instruction sheet did not give info on how to access the proper way to the motor that is the door. Not wanting to damage the freezer door assy. called in a tech who made it look easy, but even he had a little problem locating access panel that was directly under the motor in the freezer side of the door. After that it was a piece of cake.

while closing the door, the light switch fouled, resulting in the switch breaking
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
