Trying to set oven for 400 degrees preheating info comes up on screen only goes to 380 degrees?
For model number WOS11EM4EW02
Hi Minerva,
Thank you for your question. If the oven is not heating correctly, the issue may be with the oven temperature sensor. The oven temperature sensor monitors the oven temperature and signals the electronic control board to turn the elements on and off. Before removing this part from the oven and testing it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, unplug the oven from the electrical outlet. This test needs to be done with the sensor at room temperature to produce accurate results. The reading should be between 1080 and 1100 ohms. If you get any other reading, you need a replacement temperature sensor. If the sensor is fine, you will need to check the elements, the electronic control board, and the wiring between the parts to see which part is causing the issue. We hope this helps with the repair!
pulled out of wall. removed cover and visually checked for damage. saw none. saw what looked like a diode next to the control board. ohm meter showed open in both directions. from diagrams, determined the part to be a thermal fuse. replaced it, powered up. lights came on, set time, and turned the oven on. it started heated all seemed to work normally. noticed the fan was varing speed. pulled and oiled fan motor. appears to have smoothed out. i suspect the fan wasnt moving enough air to keep the electronics area cool. ran for 30 minutes at 350 deg. appears to be ok. time will tell if there is another problem i havent found.
Since I have All Whirlpool appliances in the home, the only one not a Whirlpool was a counter top dishwasher that looks exactly like it could be a Whirlpool and so not to be the odd unit out, I labeled it with with a Whirlpool logo nameplate on the face of the door. Now everything matches perfectly and all in the same exact color white too.
Just measured and marked where the plate was to be located, cleaned that part of the surface, peeled the backing and carefully placed the logo name plate in place and pressed it on. Voila. Done and looks original as well. Call me the big, deep fakearooski.
