Using the Cotton setting - agitator speed was slow for wash and rinse cycles. During the final spin the timer did not advance to OFF. What do you think?

Hello Kenneth, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, some cycles will use a slower agitator speed to reduce damage to fabrics, but if it is doing it on the cotton cycle, it could be an issue with the drive motor with inverter, the power line filter, the shaft and mode shifter assembly, the timer or there could be debris caught beneath the agitator or between the tub and washing machine housing. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. Good luck with your repair.

Hello Denise and thanks for writing. If the washer won't spin the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. ... If the washer won't spin, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

Won't spin, the GE motor doesn't rotate. The nest of cycle works ok. I mean the agitator works, it is driven by the motor and belt.

washing machine would not go through all cycles or agitate
After removing frt panel which prys off I checked for anything obvious like a loose belt. Then I jiggled the magnet switch located on the inside of the loading cover. I saw the machine start agitating the it stopped again when I stopped touching it. I ordered the new part and spliced it in with the wire crip tool. Now the machine is A ok.
