The ice maker is crushing ice all the time even on cube setting. How do I fix it to go back to dispensing cubes and change to crushed.

Hi Janet, thank you for reaching out to PartSelect. According to our research, if you select cubed ice and all crushed ice is dispensed, or vice versa, your ice dispenser is not functioning properly. The reason for this is that the freezer is too cold. If the freezer temperature is too low, the ice will shatter when it is harvested from the ice maker. Raise the freezer temperature accordingly. In some cases, there may not be enough water flow to the ice-making unit, or an ice buildup may block the mechanism that moves when switching between cubes or crushed ice. Inspect the ice bucket for buildup, rinsing it with hot water to clear it out. If the low water pressure is to blame, the refrigerator also will not dispense water properly. Check all water connections for pinched or bent lines. If the issue still exists, the ice maker, part number PS12115595, is faulty and will need replacement. We hope this solves your problem!

It was simple. I pulled out the old seal from the track it was tucked in and put the new one in using a wood spatula to help along the folding part of the door that fits behind the other door. I replaced both seals under 15 minutes. I am a 63 year old female so I know if I can do it so can you! Tip: make sure that you line up the top and bottom and from side to side evenly before you start pressing it into the track. Refrigerator is working properly now.
OPENED THE LEFT SIDE REFRIGERATOR DOOR WHERE THE DEFECTIVE MECHANISM WAS. GOT UP ON THE FIRST STEP OF THE STEP STOOL,REMOVED THE PHILLIPS HEAD RETAINING SCREW FROM THE BROKEN PART.PUT THE NEW CLOSING MECHANISM IN PLACE AND RE-INSTALLED THE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW. STEPPED DOWN FROM THE STEP STOOL AND SHUT THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR.
I simply removed the old container & carefully removed all built up ice from the area that was to house the new container. This site helped me find the correct container in minutes. Will definitely use them again.
