Need to know how to do a forced defrost on this model refrigerator.

Hi Darrell,
Thank you for your question. To place your refrigerator in defrost mode, press and hold the Energy Saver button and the Fridge/Power button at the same time for 12 seconds. This will place the refrigerator in Forced Freeze. Press the Fridge/Power button 4 times and the refrigerator will go into Forced Defrost. This turns the compressor off and turns the defrost heater on. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

Hello Mark, thank you for your question. That sounds like a power glitch. Try pressing and holding the power freeze and power cool buttons at the same time for about 8 to 13 seconds and see if it clears. If that doesn't work, it could mean that your ice pipe heater has failed. Try to just reset this error to start. Press and hold the upper left and upper right buttons together for 5 seconds and then allow the dispenser to reset and go through it's diagnostics. If the error comes back it means that your fill tube heater for the icemaker has failed and needs to be replaced. This is the heater that stops the fill tube from freezing up when making ice. I hope this helps.

My food in the refrigerator keeps freezing and the temp is at 19 to 20 degrees fahrenheit. I have tested the temps sensors and all seem to be ok. What else can it be?

It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty PS4155725 you should check the part(s) for signs of damage or test with a multimeter, and replace the part(s) as needed. If the coils on your fridge are dirty or dusty, then the compressor needs to work harder and longer to keep the freezer temperature at freezing temperature. We hope this helps. The inlay control panel is the dispenser display on the front of your freezer door, and in order to test it you will have to remove the dispenser assembly and front panel to gain access to it, then you should be able to use a multi-meter to test to see if its defective. This is the Samsung French door refrigerator style that so many people have complained about freezing up and not cooling the top section. I first changed out the defrost thermostat and this did not correct the problem. I done a quick resistance check on the temp sensor that's mounted on the evaporator itself. The resistance would change when holding an ice cube on the sensor so I just assumed it was ok. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: When performing a resistance check on this sensor, make sure your readings match the Samsung temp/resistance chart in their literature. My sensor was way off calibration and was causing the freeze up. Its working as designed now and DW is happy again. Learn from my mistake.
Interestingly, the few authorized samsung parts suppliers I found declared that this model did not have a lower icemaker, whereas this company actually had the specific part. The heater swap is completely straightforward, and simple, but for one detail. The insulation wrap is easily torn when pulling the tube out and my time was spent finding a suitable material to patch the hole. I would recommend purchasing a new tube with heater element and wrap pre-installed. This issue in no way diminished my satisfaction with the product or the prompt delivery time.
