Gas grill section does not light. No clicking noise. No gas smell. Just purchased home with this range. Home was built in ‘95. Stove in great condition except for grill function. Removed grate and basket and the gas element looks pretty good- there is rusting and age but not sure where to start to fix this.

Hi Linda, Thank you for your question. If the grill section is not lighting the issue could be the igniter. You should also check the valve and the spark module as well. You will need to test some of these parts with a multi-meter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may use as a general reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. We do have a symptoms list under Appliance Repair on our website that you may reference for information on how to test them. You may find the information under "Gas igniter glows, but will not light". To test the spark module, make sure that you have disconnected the stove from its power supply and that you have turned off the gas supply. Then check your wiring diagram to see that everything is connected correctly. Once you have done this, set your multi-meter to the 120 VAC scale or higher setting. You will need to attach one of the meters to the L wire terminal and the other to the N terminal. Then reconnect the power to the stove and turn the burners on a low setting. If you get no line voltage 115 VAC +/- 10 VAC at the test meter, then the electrical circuit is interrupted before the the spark module. If there is line voltage, you will need to check the igniter. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

Replaced Inner Oven Door Glass (CT130/CT230)
Found the service manual for Thermador CT130/CT230 online, which provides fine step-by-step instructions for this replacement (on page 2-21 in the version of the manual that I found).

It's service manual 92-02-020 (this is the March 1999 version). Should be able to find it for FREE download on several sites. Here's just one example:
