When dispensing water, there is a leak at the back base of the fridge, at the inlet valve. IT looks like the plastic piece that holds the hose in place is no longer holding the hose snugly into the valve. Can this be fixed or does it need to be replaced?
For model number PRMC2285AF
Hu Brendam, thank you for your question! If you have a leaking issue at the back base of your fridge where the water inlet valve is located and the plastic piece holding the hose in place is no longer securing the hose properly, there are a few steps you can take to address the issue: First, make sure the hose is properly connected to the valve. Sometimes, it may have come loose over time. Try to reattach it securely, ensuring it is properly seated and tightened. If the hose is damaged or the plastic piece that holds it in place is broken, you may need to replace the water tube, part number PS16218472. The plastic part at the end of the water tube is not sold separately. We hope this helps.
I just bought this fridge from lowes wpg - it has a high temperature detected alarm on it already - what can I do to fix this?
For model number PRMC2285AF
Hello Beau, thank you for getting in touch. The high-temperature alarm sounds when the temperature inside the freezer rises 15 degrees above the set temperature so that you can fix the cooling problem and prevent food spoilage. When you hear the alarm, check the freezer electrical outlet for power because the control uses a battery as back-up power to sound the alarm (on most models) when the outlet power fails. Restore power to the freezer by resetting the house circuit breaker for the electrical outlet and the freezer will resume cooling if a power failure caused the alarm. If you can hear the compressor running but the fridge is not cooling. Clean dirty condenser coils because dirty coils will not cool down refrigerant before it enters the evaporator. If this does not solve the issue, we would recommend checking the evaporator fan motor, part number PS12705983. Good luck with the repair!
Simple three steps... 1) There's an front section to the ice-maker to take off. One Phillips screw is on the side, one screw is underneath near the inside of the refrigerator wall. Just unscrew and store. 2) There's a small plastic unit just inside the ice maker to take out. It's held in by a small nut that requires about a 4" extension to reach. (You may be able to unscrew the nut with small needle-nose pliers). Just unscrew and take out the unit - the unit functions just to keep the ice maker wiring in place. 3) The wiring looks a mess, but there's just one wiring connector to the ice maker assembly. Unsnap it. The ice maker is not screwed in, it just slides in -- reach in and pull the assembly straight out; when it stops, lower it a bit and it will come free. Reverse the instructions to install the new unit.
When removing existing filter you will experience some resistance at the 10-4 position which requires a little extra pressure to reach the 9-3 position.
REPLACED WITH NEW. HOWEVER, THE WATER FILTER INDICATOR STILL SAYS 'REPLACE'. THERE IS NO LEAKAGE, BUT IT APPEARS LIKE THE NEW CARTRIDGE IS NOT COMPLETELY INSERTED. I'VE TRIED REMOVING AND REPLACING THE NEW CARTRIDGE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT IT STILL SAYS 'REPLACE'. INCIDENTALLY, THIS WAS THE SECOND ORDER OF THE CARTRIDGE AND LAST TIME I GOT TWO, AND THEY BOTH FIT FINE! WITH THIS ORDER I GOT JUST ONE.
