Strong musty smell from machine doesn't go away with cycles of Afresh, cleaning soap dispenser, cleaning as much of gasket as I can. You tube videos show cleaning the pump filter which was gross. Is a dirty pump filter the possible source? Unfortunately appears only accessible by taking off back of machine.

Hello John, thank you for your question. Sprinkle 1/3 cup baking soda in an empty washer drum. Pour 2 cups white vinegar in the detergent tray. Run a cleaning cycle or regular wash with hot water. For persistent mildew, pour 2cups bleach in the bleach dispenser and run a second wash cycle. We hope this helps.

Seems to be leaking from pump when it’s draining. Like four cups or so.

Hi Michael, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, we would recommend you check the drain hose, part number PS12584563 is properly clamped with a hose clamp, part number PS11743008. Also, the seals inside the drain pump, part number PS11756700, may be damaged. We hope this solves your problem!
No codes, runs thru self check fine but does not spin up to max speed. Tub seems little bouncy empty. It’s spins fast but not the max speed and clothes are pretty wet after wash, not dripping but too wet to dry on one cycle. Does this have a two speed system?
For model number MHW8200FW0
Hi Kevin, thank you for reaching out. A washing machine that does not spin fast is likely experiencing a problematic drain system or objects stuck between its inner and outer tubs. When the drain system fails, excess water in the drum will prevent it from spinning fast. We would recommend checking the drain hose is not clogged and is placed properly. If this is not the case, we would recommend replacing the drain pump, part number PS11756700. For the bouncing issue, we would recommend checking the tub spring, part number PS12704457. It supports the outer tub and keeps the tub stable during unbalanced loads. Lastly, your washer comes with 5 spin speeds: Max Extract, High, Medium, Slow, and Off. We hope this helps.
Removed the top (3-4 screws at back). Flowmeter has 2 hoses with hose clamps. Removed with plyers. Simple electrical connector removed.
Reversed procedure. Running perfect now.
How did I know it was the flow-meter? Read the service manual as possible causes to narrow it down. Disassembled old flowmeter and cleaned. That fixed for awhile. Problem came back, could 'tap' on flowmeter to temporarily fix. This convinced me that was indeed the problem.
The flowmeter is just a simple vane that moves as water flows across it, and sends pulses each time it rotates. If it 'sticks' then the computer doesn't think any water is coming in - hence the error. Tapping on it would 'unstick' long enough to confirm problem.
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.
First some background. The door locked up the first time when appliance was less than one year old. The "Maytag Repairman" finally succeeded in getting the door open after propping up the front of the machine and fumbling around underneath for a period of time and then assured me the problem was solved. The problem recurred less than a year later, and I called another repairman who seemed to have an easier time of it, and charged $293.42 to replace the water level switch. About six months later the same problem recurred and I took the cover off the top of the machine and found there a booklet "For Service Technician's Use Only". VERY HELPFUL. Told how extremely easy it was to unlock door - took about five seconds. Replacing the switch itself involved pulling one tubing off and disconnecting one elec connection from old switch and replacing on new switch. Total cost $50 plus a few dollars for shipping.
