Circuit breaker is tripped as soon as I rotate the timer knob in either cw or ccw direction. Dryer will not operate.

Dryer quits heating after 5 mins. Dryer exhaust vent has been replaced and cleaned inside vent in dryer. Could this be that the dryer cycling thermostat has gone bad? Please advise. Thanks

Trying to decide if we should buy a new dryer after 24 years! Or home repair. The dryer still works but intermittently has a loud squealing noise.

Hi Adrienne, thank you for the great question. We have concluded that the issue is with the drive belt. The drive belt is a very long, slender belt that wraps all the way around the dryer drum, around a tension pulley, and then around the drive motor. Over time, the drive belt can become frayed or otherwise damaged. If the drive belt is frayed or damaged, the dryer will be noisy as it turns. Inspect the drive belt for signs of wear. If the drive belt is worn, replace the drive belt, part number PS11741110. We hope this sorts out your problem!

The dryer is not heating up

For model number MDG4000BWW

Hi Timothy, Glad to hear from you. If the dryer is not heating up, we recommend checking the cycling thermostat and the coils. Before removing and checking these parts for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. For the cycling thermostat, you should receive a reading of infinity or zero. For the coils, you should receive a reading of 1000-2000 ohms. If your readings do not match those listed above, you will need to replace these parts. We hope this helps!
