changed batteries on remote,it will not turn on

Hi Vince, thank you for asking. We would recommend replacing the remote, part number PS3602540, to fix the issue. It lets you operate the room air conditioner from a short distance away. If this is faulty, the air conditioner will not turn on. We hope this sorts out your problem!
