Unit turns off after a few hours but turns back on when re plugged. Errorcode 5y or 59 and cf displayed on front panel . Unit is quiet when on.Thank you
For model number LGUS2642LF1
Hello Marieta, thank you for your question. I think that might be a SY CF error code. When your Frigidaire refrigerator displays the SY CE error code, this means there is a communications issue. This communication problem is caused by either a wiring issue, wire harness issue, faulty control board, or a bad user interface board. We would recommend checking the connection on PartSelect Number: PS3408795 board which is the dispenser board, and PartSelect Number PS3419838 board which is under the unit behind the kick plate. I hope this helps.

I replace the defrost thermostat refrigerator and freezer won't cool, cold
For model number LGUS2642LF1
Hello Jim, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Temperature Sensor, This part is usually located near the evaporator. At 70 degrees the resistance should be 9.3K ohms, 90 degrees would be 7.7K ohms. at 100 degrees would be 6.2K ohms, and 120 degrees would be 4.3K ohms. If the thermistor reads outside of range then it needs replaced. We hope this helps.
The ice maker works but the water dispenser doesn't. I disconnected the water line at the bottom of the freezer door and the water pumps from there. What do I need to replace

Hi Lester,
Thank you for your question. If your refrigerator is not dispensing water, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the water filter, the water inlet valve, the water dispenser actuator, the micro switch and the dispenser control board. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
Hello Matthew, thank you for your question. The most likely cause of that temperature change is PartSelect Number: PS1765215 thermistor. This is the part that regulates and takes the temperature in the unit and relays the information to the board. We would recommend replacing that part first. If that part is not the issue there could be a problem with the control board or perhaps the compressor start device or run capacitor. I hope this helps.
In my specific appliance the water valve is located in the bottom right hand corner looking at it from the back. To get to it I remove the thin layer of cardboard the covers the back of the fridge. I then proceeded to disconnect the 1/4" copper tubing which is the water feed coming out of the wall. Then I removed the screws that hold the valve assembly in place. I took the water valve out and removed the electrical connections as well as the plastic tubing which feed the water dispenser and the ice maker. To install the new water valve it was just a matter of reversing steps.
