Closer on upper oven broken off
With the parts we received from Parts Select I took the frame off the upper oven (about 8 screws), screwed in the new striker parts and closer, replaced the frame and tried the oven door. It closed beautifully, the repair was totally successful. Thanks for the parts and the quick delivery. At the local GE store they didn't think they could order the parts and if they could, it would cost about $75.00. The Parts Select parts cost about $25.00 and the repair was done in less than 1/2 hour! Thanks!!

timer knobs missing
Just pushed the new timer knobs onto the stem. They fit and now I can set the oven timer without having to use a pair of pliers to grip the stem and turn it.

Two of the knobs fit perfectly.

The stem for the the clock was broken off and there was not enough of the stem left for the new knob to fit.

Door strike was broken
I called the local GE appliance & sales place, informed them that a friend of mine had found the part on Partselect.com, after they told me the part was no longer made, could not be found. My friend that found Partselect was going to install it for me himself but then I decided it might be best to have the dealer do it, in case something went wrong. I can not buy another stove because they no longer make the upper/lower stove like this model, I would have to rip out my cabinets! plus I do not have the money they are asking for a new stove.. Besides the fact that I LIKE this setup! 27 yrs. old, top oven was always 50 degrees off, but I know it, so not a big deal..
