At the end of a cleaning cycle, the 'clean' light is flashing. Is this a control panel issue or a result of having had a new water heater installed yesterday and the water temperature possibly being set too low (120 degrees)?

Hi Bill, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking if the overfill protection float, part number PS11745483, is able to move up and down freely. If not, press down to release it. Also, make sure the water supply is turned on to the dishwasher. If the clean light is illuminated and not blinking at the end of the cycle, this is normal. Most dishwasher clean lights will remain on until the door is opened, then closed, or the cancel button is selected. We hope this sorts out your problem!
It's been a while. You suggested that I check the heating element. I assume that I should test the connection or conductivity of the element. How do I do this, and what testing tool do I need. With the 'clean' light still blinking, how do I 'turn on' the dish washer to do this testing? Or, if I don't need to turn it on to test it, and I replace the element, how do I turn off the blinking light in order to run or test the replacement? A lot of questions, I know. Thank you, in advance, for your patience and your expertise.

Hello Bill, thank you for reaching out. The clean light flashing indicates a possible problem with the water temperature in the dishwasher. It is related to the heating element. Once you replace the heating element, the flashing will stop. To test the heating element, disconnect the power from the dishwasher. Remove the heating element. A multimeter will be used to check the continuity of the heating element. Select the range selection dial on the lowest reading of ohms on the multimeter. Touch both probes together and adjust the reading to zero. After that, connect probes to both ends of the heating element. If the multimeter shows a reading between 0 and 50 ohms, your element has continuity. If it does not, you need to replace the heating element. We hope this information is useful!

As stated yesterday, the 'clean' light is flashing (blinking), preventing us from running the dishwasher. In reply, you suggested that I check that the overfill protection float can move freely up and down. It can. You also suggested that I check the water supply connection, since this malfunction occurred the day after we had our hot water tank replaced. The load washed, and there was a bit of water still in the bottom when my wife opened the door when she noticed the blinking 'clean' light, so that seems to indicated connection.
Might it be related to the control panel?
For model number GU2475XTVQ1
Hi Bill, thank you for reaching out again. Based on our research, the reason the light is blinking is that the control board is looking for a specific temperature rise in the water in the basin and is not seeing it. You may need to check the heating element, part number PS8260087. If this does not help, then you may need to replace the control board, part number PS11752012. We hope this sorts out your problem!
Caviat: The actual repair is less than 15 minutes, but I spent a lot of time playing with it before I figured out it was that easy and fast. You don't need to remove the dishwasher from the counter to do this. And it will probably help to look at the new part closely so you can understand where the retainer clip is to press it and release the old pump.
First remove the water from the dishwasher pan that would not drain with a wet/dry vac. Otherwise the water will all drain on the floor when you remove the pump. Then remove the two screws on the kickplate on the front of the unit below the door. Remove the kickplate/maintainence access cover. The drain pump is on the right about 8 inches in. Using two hands you grasp the drain pump with your right hand and use the left hand to push the retaining clip down. Then the drain pump will rotate 1/4 turn counterclockwise and can be removed without pulling the dishwasher out. There is likely to be some water leak out that was traped in the pump housing that you can not reach with the vac. Disconnect the wire. Connect the wire to the new pump, put it in place and 1/4 turn clockwise to install it. Replace the kickplate and you're done.
I did a search on the website and read the instructions for trouble shooting. I took the inside door off by taking the screws out. I pulled the part and tested it and found it did not in fact have no ampage. I then ordered the part on line. It came in two days, I plugged it in, put the door back together and the total time was about 15-20 minutes. Easy, simple, great instructions and the entire thing only costed me the part itself. It's working great now! And I've never worked on appliances before.
