Machine wont heat
For model number GTD33GASK0WW
Hi Marcos,
Thank you for contacting us. If the dryer is not heating there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the igniter and the heat detector. These parts fix the issue the majority of the time for this model. You will need to test these parts with a multimeter. Before testing these parts, unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. When removing the igniter from the dryer, take it out carefully as it is very fragile. With your multimeter on the lowest setting for resistance, test your igniter for continuity by touching the probes to the terminals. If you receive a reading of 50-400 ohms, your igniter has continuity. If your test produces any other reading, you need a replacement igniter. If the issue is not the igniter, you will need to test the heat detector. This part should also be removed carefully from the dryer. Set the multimeter to the Rx1 setting and touch each of the probes to the terminals. You should receive a reading of zero. If you do not get a reading of zero, you will need to replace the heat detector. If both of these parts are fine, you will need to check the duct felt seal, the cycling thermostat, the drive belt, the high limit thermostat, the foam seal and the burner assembly. We hope this helps!

Dryer starts and tumbles but no heat at all.
For model number GTD33GASK0WW
Hello John, thank you for your question. We have researched your model and found that the issue is probably with the Igniter, part number PS12342916. If that does not take care of the issue then the problem is most likely to be related to the Heat Detector, part number PS268031. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!

Removed the front Dryer panel. Left drum in place and lifted it up slightly to get access to motor drive. Slipped belt in place and put panel back on. This was a first attempt ever at fixing an appliance and it was no big deal.
First I found and watched three videos on how to open the dryer and replace the igniter. Then I opened the dryer, but I did not remove the belt as suggested in the video, and then I removed the ignitor and flame detecter as the videos had shown. I got on-line and ordered the new parts from PartsSelect in the afternoon and had them in my hands the next morning by 9:30 am. I installed the new parts and everything worked fine again. You must be very careful with the igniter to not touch it with hands or anything else. I practiced puting in the old parts first.
I had to take most of the dryer apart because there is no rear access to the motor. It turned out to be easy to dissasembel the dryer. The only problem that I had was that I could not figure out how to route the belt around the motor and the idol pullies. I could not find anywhere that gave instructions on how to properly tension the belt. I finally figured out that the idoler pulley needs to be locked in place on the right side of the engie mount. Then the belt needs to be routed over idoler pulley and under the motor pulley. Finally release the idoler pully from the locked postion to put tension on the belt. It really turned out to be pretty easy.
