How do you access the drum to replace a drum baffle?
For model number GFD55GSSN0WW
Hello Jeff, thank you for reaching out. We researched your model and found instructions to help you replace the baffle.
1. Unplug the dryer.
2. First, slide over the GE logo cover to open the panel screws. Then remove the knob to open the screw at the rear of the control panel to release it.
3. Open the dryer door and remove the screws inside the door frame.
4. Carefully unhook the control panel tabs from the main top.
5. Lift the top and remove the mounting screws securing the baffle that you are replacing.
6. Pull the old baffle out of the drum.
7. Install the new baffle by positioning it in the drum and securing it with the screws.
8. Replace the screws in the back to assemble the parts again.
9. Plug in the power cord and confirm that the appliance is functioning properly.
We hope this solves your problem!

Do i need a kit to change from LP gas to natural gas?
For model number GFD55GSSN0WW
Hello Michael, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, you may need the natural gas check valve and orifice to convert your model from LP to natural gas. These parts do not come separately, they come with the gas valve, part number PS12743381. Glad to be of assistance!

How do I clean the vent inside the dryer do I pull the front panel off to get to the heating chamber or just blow it all out with leaf blower send link to you tube showing disassemble and cleaning thanks
For model number GFD55GSSN0WW
Hello Chris, thank you for getting in touch. You will need to remove the front panel. Disconnect the duct from the dryer. The dryer vent duct is typically a semi-rigid or flexible metal duct that connects the dryer to the outside vent. Vacuum the duct with the hose attachment and reconnect the duct. Blowing the duct is not recommended. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the duct. You will also need to clean the lint filter. We hope this helps.

Loud banging/thumping noise when dryer was running. Bearings on tub rollers worn out. Poor design.
Could tell from the sound it was making that it was related to drum rotation. Searched online videos on how to disassemble this model GE Dryer. The Dryer drum rides on 4 rollers. 2 of the 4 of mine were very noticeably loose and made a similar noise when I spun them by hand. Simply replace the rollers and re-assembled.
I could type out instructions, but it's much simpler to just search for the right video online.
