My fridge temperature is set at 36 degree's, but my thermometer I placed inside says 26 degrees, which is freezing my vegetables and salads and leaving a ice coating on other foods. The fridge runs often and doesn’t shut off. This started out as intermittent and now it’s all the time. I was thinking it is the thermometer?? Any idea’s. Thanks

What causes the alarm to stay on constantly?
For model number FPRU19F8RFC
PartSelect logo
Hello Guevara, thank you for writing. There are several things that can set off the alarm. A fridge will start beeping when it is either too cold or too warm. or, Nudging the doors closed or removing any items that may be impeding its closure can stop the beeping immediately. If your fridge does not have an auto-defrost function then excessive ice-build up in the freezer can cause the beeping alarm. Good luck and have a great day.

I have the full fridge with no freezer. the display is staying at a constant 4deg but if you put a bowl of water or glass in the fridge it causes all the vegetables to freeze and ice to form on the water. cleaned the coils, opened the door to get the compressor to run then ran the temp control up and it turned off. not sure what to try next.
