My oven was working. Then hears a noise and a small Flame on the bottom element. Now both my elements are not working but the burners are working and the clock is still working. What do you think may have happened? Bad fuse? Replace both stove elements?

Hi Stuart,
Thank you for your question. If the bake element burnt out, it will need to be replaced. If the broil element is not coming on, you will need to test it with a multi-meter to see if it is has continuity. Verify that you have disconnected the appliance from the power source before beginning. Locate and inspect the element’s terminals. They can be accessed by removing the back panel of your oven. You will be looking for signs of overheating or damage. If no issues are found during your inspection, remove the element from your range in order to test it. Using a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, touch the element’s terminals with the probes. The reading of a functional element varies between models but will likely fall between 19 and 115 ohms. Check your owner’s manual to find what reading a functional element from your model will produce. If your element does not have continuity or is visually damaged, you will need a replacement broil element. If the broil element is fine inspect the wiring and make sure everything is fitted correctly. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

The repair was simple; first I removed the 2 screws from the old element and disconnected the wires and then I inserted the new element reconnected the wires and replaced the screws . The repair was easy and took less that 15 min. The oven works as good as new and I saved alot of money by doing it myself.
Replaced clock control by removing surface burner control knobs and plastic nuts, and then the cover over the oven control. Two screw hold the clock in place, after removal and disconnecting the plug-in you can reinstall the new clock control. The Heat Sensor inside the oven will also need to be replaced. It is located inside the oven and attached with two screws; the back of the oven will need to be removed to unplug. Reverse removal procedure and turn the power back on to the stove.
PF alarm appeared on display. Noticed clicking when cord was moved. Had arced for some time and melted original block. New part slightly different. Only has 3 lugs, old one had six. Stack using washers provided. Take note of colors before disassembly. Use caution while working through access opening. The edges are sharp. Only tools needed are phillips screwdriver, deep socket for lug nuts. Nut driver optional. Hope this is helpful.
