Replaced all 4 suspension rods/springs and drum still wiggles wiggles easily and goes into imbalance. Should the drum wiggle easily by hand? New rods and springs did not stiffen it up a5alas. Will the balance ring solve this problem? Thanks!
For model number ATLMW41
Hi Steve, thank you for your inquiry. No, the washing machine drum should not wiggle easily by hand after replacing the suspension rods. A functioning suspension system should feel relatively stiff, allowing only minor movement even with pressure. The balance ring, part number PS18160867, at the top of the tub holds the liquid to stabilize it during spin cycles. If this ring is cracked or empty, the tub will shake regardless of how good the suspension is. Glad to be of help!
