How to replace magnetron
For model number AMV5206BAB
Hi Fred, thank you for your inquiry. To replace the magnetron, you need to remove the top outer panel. You will see the magnetron on the right side of the microwave behind the control panel. Unplug the wiring and then unscrew the magnetron, replace it, and then repeat the same procedure backward. Glad to be of assistance!

Why a tenant would remove and discard the grease filters without replacing them is beyond me! But, I removed the filters from the package and slid them into place. Two minutes tops. I would like to add that I ordered these on Thursday afternoon, and I had them on Saturday; awesome customer service!
The repair was very easy, however the bulb was not the same as the original one. The original bulb had a bright setting and a low setting, but the replacement bulb was only the low setting bulb. There was no bright and dim operation. The switch on the microwave had the duel settings.
Removed control panel, discharged HV capacitor. Removed old diode, tested to confirm failure. Replaced part. Other than the removal of the panel swapping the part was almost as easy as replacing a light bulb.
