How do I change burned out light?
For model number AMV5164BAB
Hello Enrico, thank you for your question. You will need a screwdriver to remove the cover or panel near the lamp PS4132129 and then unscrew the bulb counterclockwise to detach it from the socket. Take care when handling the lamp, using a cloth or tissue to avoid direct contact. The Inner Microwave Light Bulb - 40W R0713676 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. We cannot obtain the part through any other means. We hope this helps.
Why a tenant would remove and discard the grease filters without replacing them is beyond me! But, I removed the filters from the package and slid them into place. Two minutes tops. I would like to add that I ordered these on Thursday afternoon, and I had them on Saturday; awesome customer service!
Removed control panel, discharged HV capacitor. Removed old diode, tested to confirm failure. Replaced part. Other than the removal of the panel swapping the part was almost as easy as replacing a light bulb.
I removed the outer cover and exposed the inner workings. I watched a video on partselect.com to show how to remove and replace the Diode. I followed the instructions and it was very easy to replace.
Unfortunately, the diode was only part of the issue. I ended up replacing the High Voltage capacitor and Magnetron also. Those were a little more complicated but still easy to do.
Now the Microwave works just like new! Cost me less than $100 for all parts.
