Hi Doug, Thank you for the question. You can look the defrost heater over to see if there is any physical damage. Most cases you will be able to see a burn mark or a sport where it burnt out.You can also test the Bimetal,PartSelect Number PS2322734 and the Temperature sensor, PartSelect Number PS2323251 with an Multi Meter and check for continuity. The resistance for the sensor at room temp should be 5K ohms. Hope this helps!

The refrigerator temp works okay but the freezer is not getting cold enough. I set the frig at 38 and the freezer at -2. The frig goes to 38 but the freezer only to 20. I also unplugged it to maybe reboot the system that didn't work. I'm thinking its the temp sensor in the freezer part.
For model number PFSS9PKYASS

Hello Richard, thank you for contacting us. It could be a few things that cause this. You would want to make sure the coils in the freezer and by the compressor are all clean/no ice build up. It could be the defrost cycles are on too long preventing the freezer from getting to the proper temp, that would be the bi metal defrost thermostat which can be tested with a multi-meter. It could also be the compressor, make sure it kicks on properly and the condenser fan runs, you can also test the start relay and capacitor for the compressor as well with a multi-meter. Good luck with the repair!
