The soft close for the lid broke. I'm not sure if it's a hinge replacement or there is a secondary part that does that soft closing. Bought from you guys in the past. thanks!
For model number WTW8800YW
Hi Joe,
Thank you for your question. If the lid is not closing correctly, the issue could either be the left or right lid hinge or the left or right lid hinge arm. You will need to inspect the parts to see which one is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Follow up question to the soft close. The left side of the lid is loose where the hinge pin goes into the body of the washer. I think that's the key to what is broken.

Hi Joe, thank you for your follow up information! That does sound like it could cause an issue. I have linked the left side part down below for you. Good luck with your repair.
The right back side of the lid on my cabrio platnum washer is raised. How do i remove the door?
For model number WTW8800YC0
Hello Cheryl, thank you for your question. You will need a putty knife and Philips head screwdriver. First unplug your washer. Next raise the whole top so that you can gain access to the screws that hold the hinge in place. Put the putty knife in about three inches from the edge on either side of the front of the washer, and you'll feel a spring clip. Once clips are released, lift the whole top of the washer and hold in place, you will be able to see the screws that hold the hinge in place. unscrew the screws and lower the top assembly, now you can lift the lid with the hinges attached. Simply slide the hinge off the hinge pin. To install the new hinge pin note that there is a locator tab on it that lines
up with the smaller hole on the lid to force you to put the pin towards the outside of the lid. Reinstall the Philips screw, but do not over tighten. To reinstall the lid make sure that the locating tabs line up with the holes. Slide those in to place, close the lid and raise the whole top while supporting the lid, then reinstall the screws into the hinge. I hope this helps!
