The auger motor stopped working but i am not sure if there are relays to prevent the auger from working or if there is some kind of reset. There was a piece of ice jammed in the auger which prevented the auger from turning. Is there a way to troubleshoot the auger motor?
For model number ED5PVEXWS06
Hello Richard, thank you for writing. You can check the Auger Motor for continuity with a multi-meter. Be sure to remove all power from the refrigerator before doing so. If the Auger Motor has continuity, then you may want to consider replacing the Micro Switch, part number PS11738948 for your model, as when it is activated it supplies power to the Auger Motor. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

Very loud noise coming from freezer compartment. Sounded like icemaker. I removed the galvanized housing that contains the motor and plunger and light. Unplugged and removed the entire unit. Plugged refrigerator back in and noise is gone. Icemaker is still making ice. Can turn motor by hand and plunger is working freely. Any suggestions?
For model number ED2KVEXVL01
Hi Tom,
Thank you for contacting us. The majority of the time if the noise is coming from the freezer section, it is probably either the evaporator fan motor or the the fan blade on the motor. I would recommend checking this the next time the noise happens. The evaporator fan motor is behind the panel in the freezer section. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Ice maker auger continues to run after shutting freezer door. Unplugged motor took out the box with the motor don’t see anything obvious. Reconnected plug and the motor continues to run when depressing the close freezer door lever…at a loss?
For model number MSD2576VEMOO
Hi Robert, thank you for your question! We would first recommend checking the dispenser control board. If it is fine, then you will need to replace the main control board, part number PS11740452, to fix the issue. We hope this information helps!
