I have noticed that my washer is leaking on some loads but not others. All hoses are tight and secure. drain hose is secure. pump and pump housing are secure. Noticed some water in the "flood hose". What is the purpose of that specific hose and could that be the source of the leak?
For model number GTWN4250D0WS
Hello Eric, Thank you for the question. The flood hose is to prevent an overfill from putting water on the motor and drain pump area. It gets water when the unit spins before enough water has drained out, allowing the washer to spin the water up to the drain hose opening at the top of the tub. There should be no water in the hose after the cycle is complete. If the hose still has water you can check it for a blockage or build up. Also make sure the appliance is not overfilling causing the hose to leak. Hope this helps!
