My washing machine will begin filling with water after starting. It will only fill with an inch or two or water and then it will start draining immediately. What could be causing this?
Thank you for your time.

Hi Noel,
Thank you for your question. If the washer is not filling with water, the issue may be with the lid switch, the water level switch, or the water inlet valve. Before removing and testing these parts, unplug the washer from the electrical outlet. For the lid switch and the water inlet valve, you will need to test them for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting to see if they are operating normally, For the lid switch you should receive a reading of zero and for the water inlet valve, you should receive a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. If you get any other readings, you will need to replace these parts. For the water level pressure switch, first inspect the air dome hose by submerging it in water, sealing one end and blowing in the other, no bubbles should come out of the hose during this test. Additionally, you should inspect it for any signs of wear or damage. You will need to remove your appliance’s cabinet to access the air dome hose. Remove the water level switch as well. It is usually found below the control panel. Inspect the switch for any signs of wear, burning, cracking, or damage. If the air dome hose is not damaged or if your switch shows any of the symptoms above, you may need a replacement water level switch. We hope this helps!
I spoke to a very nice young ladie who took my order and I received my order within two days. I pull the clasp off of the old knob and replace the knob and the clasp with the new part and it now works great. Thank you for helping me find the part I needed.
After removing frt panel which prys off I checked for anything obvious like a loose belt. Then I jiggled the magnet switch located on the inside of the loading cover. I saw the machine start agitating the it stopped again when I stopped touching it. I ordered the new part and spliced it in with the wire crip tool. Now the machine is A ok.
